Terms of Service

Last updated: July 23, 2026

By installing and using the Lucien app ("the app"), you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Description of the service

Lucien is a local-first mobile app that helps you organize your documents, photos, breakdowns and repairs, and find that information again through an assistant. Data is stored on your device and backed up to your own Google Drive. We operate no server that stores your content.

2. Your account

Sign-in is done through your Google account. You are responsible for the security of that account. You can revoke Lucien's access and delete your data at any time (see the Delete account page).

3. AI features and your Gemini key

Artificial intelligence features are optional and require your own Google Gemini API key. You are solely responsible for obtaining that key, complying with Google's terms, and any costs Google may charge for its use.

Important notice: AI-generated answers may be incomplete or wrong. They are presented to you as drafts to validate. Always verify critical information (safety, health, spending, legal matters) before acting on it. Lucien is an organization aid, not professional advice.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of the content you add to Lucien. We claim no rights to it and do not access it. You are responsible for the legality of the content you store.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Lucien for unlawful purposes, not to attempt to bypass its security mechanisms (App Check, authentication), and not to disrupt its operation.

6. Availability

The app is provided "as is". Some features depend on third-party services (Google, Expo) whose continuous availability we do not guarantee.

7. No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to fitness for a particular purpose or the accuracy of AI results.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher shall not be liable for indirect damages, nor for data loss resulting from a failure of your device, your Google account or a third-party service. It is your responsibility to keep your backups.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the province of Quebec (Canada), without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your place of residence.

10. Changes

We may modify these terms. Significant changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance.
